Q1 我已順利錄取,進入台灣之前,我需要準備什麼文件呢? What should I prepare before I come over Taiwan? A1 僑外生入境台灣就學換發居留證前,需至僑居地(國籍地)駐外單位申請入台之居留簽證,入境時以居留簽證進入台灣後,國際處將協助申請換發居留證。港澳生則是申請中華民國台灣地區入出境許可證(入台證),入境台灣後由國際處統一安排居留證體檢,完成後有國際處協助申請換發居留證。 For international students, before entering Taiwan for study and obtaining an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), you need to apply for a resident visa at the overseas missions (embassies or consulates) in your home country. Upon arrival in Taiwan with the residency visa, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) will assist in applying for the ARC.For students from Hong Kong and Macau, you need to apply for an Entry and Exit Permit Taiwan Republic of China to Taiwan. Upon arrival in Taiwan, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) will arrange a health examination for the ARC. Once completed, (OIA) will assist in applying for the ARC. |

A2 本校提供境外同學第一年優先住宿權 ※註:大一新生統一於確認入學後統一由國際處安排,大二以後則自行安排。保證金說明:凡住宿生需繳交住宿保證金1,000元,以保留一學年床位與確保宿舍財產使用後歸還,保證金於退宿作業無誤後退款至學生繳交的銀行或郵局帳戶。 Our university offers priority accommodation for international students in their first year. ※ Note: First-year students will have their accommodation arranged by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) after confirming enrollment. From the second year onwards, students will arrange their own accommodation.Deposit Information: All residents are required to pay a dormitory deposit of 1,000 TWD. This deposit is to reserve a bed for one academic year and to ensure the proper use and return of dormitory property. The deposit will be refunded to the student’s bank or post office account after the check-out process is completed without any issues. |

A8 大一新生在取得健保資格前,需要統一投保外籍生醫療傷病團體保險。保費為每月500元,一次投保半年。僑港澳生第一學期由僑委會補助僑生保險,費用為每學期600元。第二學期未取得健保資格前,統一投保外籍生醫療傷病團體保險(一次投保半年)。 Before first-year international students obtain National Health Insurance (NHI) eligibility, they need to enroll in the International Student Medical and Accident Insurance. The premium is NT$500 per month, and the insurance is purchased for a period of six months. For overseas Chinese and Hong Kong/Macau students, the insurance for the first semester is subsidized by the Overseas Community Affairs Council, with a cost of NT$600 per semester. If they do not obtain NHI eligibility by the second semester, they need to enroll in the International Student Medical and Accident Insurance , and the insurance is purchased for a period of six months. |

A9 健保即台灣全民健康保險,台灣全區涵蓋健保補助的醫療院所,同學們均可持健保卡就醫,就診同學除特定醫藥檢測外僅需支付掛號費用及部分負擔即可安心就醫;全民健康保險為義務性質,即一旦符合加保資格,便需強制性加保健保。 NHI stands for Taiwan’s National Health Insurance, which covers medical institutions across Taiwan that receive NHI subsidies. Q13 境外學生在台求學期間可以工讀嗎? Can foreign students work part-time while studying in Taiwan? A13 可以。僑生、港澳生、外籍生在獲得工作許可證後可以在台灣合法工讀。雇主應依法投保勞工保險(學生需負擔部分保費)。學期上課期間,工讀時數不得超過每週20小時(寒暑假期間則無此限制)。 Yes, they can. Overseas Chinese students, students from Hong Kong and Macau, and foreign students can legally work part-time in Taiwan after obtaining a work permit. A15 本校教學以華語為主,各學系錄取的學生應具備華語的聽、說、讀、寫能力(部分系所以英文授課除外)。若入學後發現中文能力不足以跟上課程,學生可以參加本校華語中心安排的華語文加強課程。 The school primarily teaches in Mandarin Chinese. Students admitted to various departments are expected to have proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Mandarin Chinese (except for certain departments that offer courses in English). Q18 「西元」的出生年月日該怎麼換算成「民國」? How do I convert my birth date from A.D. to the Republic of China Era (民國), the calendar used in Taiwan? However, Taiwan uses its own calendar system called the “Republic Era” (民國). If you need to express your birth date in the Republic Era, simply subtract 1911 from your A.D. birth year to get the Republic Era year. For example, someone born in 2004 would have been born in the 93rd year of the Republic Era. The month and day in the Republic Era are the same as in A.D., so no additional conversion is needed. |
